Ainola, the home of Aino and Jean Sibelius located in the city of Järvenpää, was purchased by the Finnish State in 1972 and is kept as a museum open to the publich during the summer months. Ainola is administrated by the Ainola Foundation, founded in 1972 by the Ministry of Education and the Sibelius Society. The Board of the Foundation consists of representatives of the State, the Sibelius Society, the City of Järvenpää and the family of Sibelius.
