Rikos ja rangaistus

Keskenäisissä puheissa runnerit ovat usein vakaasti sitä mieltä, että kytille ei antauduta, vaikka mikä olisi. Kun Lone Starin SWAT-ryhmä on valmiina ampumaan ja takaa löytyy seinä, alkaa useimpien mieli kuitenkin muuttua. Silloin on hyvä tietää mitä on edessä.

Runnereiden yleisiä ongelmia

(Rikos, sakko, maksimirangaistus)

Poliisin kimppuun käyminen on lähes aina törkeä rikos. Vähemmällä voi päästä, jos omaa hyvät asianajajat ja pystyy pistämään poliisin ahtaalle jostain kohtaa. Virkavallan väkivaltainen vastustaminen menee hyvin nopeasti myös pahoinpitelyjen luokkaan. Stevarin leipominen lättyyn ei siis sekään ole kovin hyvä idea. Ainakaan, jos aikoo jäädä kiinni.

UCAS:sissä magian käyttö rikoksessa on lähes aina törkeä rikos. Jenkkien oikeusjärjestelmän ja kristillisten arvojen päälle rakennettu järjestelmä on todella mulkku Heränneitä kohtaan. Pidätystilanteessa kaikki magian käyttö lasketaan myös aseelliseksi voimankäytöksi riippumatta siitä kohdistuuko käyttö henkilöihin. Tämä tarkoittaa, että Lone Star voi melko turvallisin mielin ampua maagin, jos tämä käyttää näkyvää magiaa pidätystä edeltävinä hetkinä.

Restriction definitions

Small Bladed Weapon (a)

This includes all knives larger than a folding pocket knife with a blade under 18 centimeters, and impromptu sharp-edged hand-held weapons.

Large Bladed Weapon (b)

This includes all swords, axes, polearms, and weapons with blades over 18 centimeters, including cyber hand razors and spurs.

Blunt Weapon (c)

This includes clubs, batons, all shock weapons (shock gloves and shock batons), and impromptu non-edged hand-held weapons.

Projectile Weapon (d)

This includes bows of all kinds and any weapon specifically designed for throwing, and any muscle-powered or mechanically powered ranged weapon.

Pistol (e)

This includes all hold-out, ”light” and “heavy” pistols, revolver, special weapon, or semi-automatic pistol, regardless of caliber.

Rifle (f)

This includes all single –action rifle or manual-action shotgun (regardless of barrel length).

Automatic Weapon (g)

This includes any weapon whose rate of fire exceeds one per pull (includes all assault rifles, machine pistols, and submachine guns).

Heavy Weapon (h)

This includes all cannons, machine guns, and other heavy-caliber weapons.

Explosives (i)

This includes all explosives, including propelled (HE rounds) or demolition charges.

Military Weapon (j)

This includes any military-grade/issued weapon not specifically covered by other categories, all rockets, and missiles.

Personal Armor (k)

This includes any heavy armor, either partial or full, intended for military, law enforcement, or security work.

Military Ammunition (l)

This includes flechette and exploding ammunition as well as armor-piercing discarding-sabot rounds designed as military/security rounds with restricted usage.

Class A Bioware (ba)

This includes all bioware of paralegal nature, including damage compensators, orthoskin, pain editors, and trauma dampers.

Class B Bioware (bb)

This includes all bioware designated for law enforcement, military, or security work. This includes adrenal pump, muscle augmentation, suprathyroids, synaptic accelerators, and toxin exhalers.

Class C Bioware (bc)

This includes all military-grade bioware, including adrenal pump-2, muscle augmentation-3 (and higher), and synaptic accelerator-2.

Class A Cyberware (ca)

This includes all cyberware of a paralegal nature. This includes bone lacing (plastic), crypto circuit HD, dermal plating, internal voice masks, smartgun links, and vehicle control rigs.

Class B Cyberware (cb)

This includes all cyberware designated for law enforcement, military, or security work. This includes bone lacing (aluminum), boosted reflexes, muscle replacement, program carrier, scramble breaker HD, Level 1 tactical computer, and wired reflexes.

Class C Cyberware (cc)

This covers military grade cyberware, including bone lacing (titanium), cortex bombs, internal comlinks, cyberweapons, Level 3 muscle replacement (and higher), Level 2 tactical computer (and higher), and Level 3 wired reflexes.

Class D Matrix (cd)

Once covering unregistered decks and matrix programs, this now is solely used for unregistered comlinks, matrix programming software, and illegal matrix service provider accounts.

Class E Magic (ce)

Refers to all spells, spirits, and foci.

Class A Equipment (e1)

This includes all equipment of a paralegal nature, including jammers and laser microphones.

Class B Equipment (e2)

This covers all equipment designated for law-enforcement, military, or security work, including data codebreakers, dataline taps, maglock passkeys, wireless adapters, and voice identifiers.

Class C Equipment (e3)

This includes military-grade equipment.

Class A Controlled (m1)

This includes controlled chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Class B Controlled (m2)

This includes neural electronics (BTLs and hot sim modifications).

Class C Controlled (m3)

This includes microbiological-warfare agents.

Usage definitions

1 Possession

Possession is simply that; owning or carrying the designated weapon.

2 Transportation

Transportation is the act of carrying or transportation said weapon. Either on one’s person or in a vehicle.

3 Threat

Threat is the act of brandishing said weapon in public, whether or not the weapon was actively and intentionally used to threaten another. Carrying an externally visible weapon is considered a Threat.

4 Use

This covers any usage of a weapon against or in the general vicinity of a living target or public or private property. It is not necessary to prove intent to harm for this offense, only usage. Neither must harm have resulted from usage of the weapon.

5 Intent

Intent is the same as for Use, except that said weapon is used explicitly to cause physical injury or property damage, whether or not such injury actually occurred. The effects of said weapon are dealt with under Injury/Death Offenses, below.
